Should the United States continue to award grants to artists through the National Endowment for the Arts?

I believe that the U.S. government should continue to fund the National Endowment Arts as long as it doesn't fund art that is obscene or offensive. Art is a very important aspect to American life, but only art that is considered decent and appropriate should be funded. Taxpayers money plays a big role in funding the arts, so we should be able to fund art that is not obscene. Art also plays an important role on our economy and daily lives. It reflects us and our accomplishments throughout time. Art can also help the econonmy or hurt the economy. So it is up to us the taxpayers to fund and maintain the Arts non-obscene and appropriate.
Yes, taxpayers money should go to the artists because art is very important for people. Every art hides a culture and also expresses something about life or history. Because of art, we can learn about the Greeks and Romans. If people don't agree with this then, they should just don't look at it.
I think people who would like to pay taxes for the National Endowment for the Art should, instead, make donations towards the program. People should not be required to pay taxes for a type of art that they do not support.
