America is so ready for "a new type of president." we have never had a woman or african american president. America is in need of a change, so i believe that this will be a wonderful change of pace.
What I don't understand is why American citizens are so focused on race or gender. It seems like people are voting for Hilary just because she is a woman and Obama just because he is part black. We are voting for the leader of America! We need to look at quality rather than appearance. I thought John Edwards was the right person to run for democrats. He had good points and stood out in the debates. He was right behind Hilary, but the people were more focused on gender and race, which caused Edwards to fall out of the picture. America is ready for a leader to guide this country towards good will and success!
Yes America is ready for a black or female president. We are ready for a change and we need to improve our country. We need someone different, someone who is willing to take risks and lead our country. America needs to try something new and now is the perfect chance to demonstrate that a woman or a black man are capable of running this country just as good as a white man.
Like Barack Obama said, "it's time for a change," and he has brought that to us. Sure, there are people that are still not comfortable with the thought of having a "black" president, but that shouldn't matter. The important thing is what will happen to the country. Race or gender really shouldn't be an issue. Barack Obama, like all of the other presidential candidates, is still an American citizen. I am sure that he will make some great decisions for this country, and of course, there will be some not so great decisions. That is just what comes with every president we have had. So, some American citizens might not be comfortable with the idea, but, in time, what will matter is not the race of our president, but the outcome of this country.
Yes, America is ready for a new type of president. African or woman it doesnt really matter because everybody has the same type of mind therfore they will have same type of thoughts. Hopefully they think of something that will help america out.

America is ready for a black or female president. Gender or race shouldn't matter in America so I think America should advance and accept "changes" and "differences." Any smart individual who is determined and ready to be president can be president in America. Determination and intelligence has no color or gender.
It shouldn't make a difference whether our president is black or white, or male or female. As long as they have good moral and political values adn they do their job correctly, without completely destroying our country or hurting other s extrememly, then they should make a good president, and people should vote according to the canidate's values, not their race or gender.
