Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right for same sex couples to marry. Do you believe that gay marriage is against the principles set down by the Bible, or is it just an extension of the civil rights movement?

I am against proposition 8. A traditional marriage is between a man and a woman, but a man and a woman are two human beings getting married. The same goes for two men or two women who are about to get married;they are human beings as well. Homosexuals have the right to love and the right to spend their whole life with the person they love. If we do not give them the right to love there might be another American Revolution. We fought the British to have freedom and I am sure that they will fight until thet get their freedom they deserve.
I'd have to disagree with proposition 8, It seems unfair. I mean, yes, some people see gay marriage as total taboo and gos way against their beliefs in the Bible, but it seems really unfair to those who are gay or bi. Proposition 8 is basically telling us who we can and can't be with and/or marry. I don't think being gay or bi is bad, it's just a personal lifestyle choice, and everyone should have that freedom to choose who they want and don't want to be with.
im pretty sure we all know that prop. 8 is about gay marraige but to many people including myself, its way more than just that...its the gay couples rights being tooken away and being discriminated against. it angers me to know that they used the most fragile people to win this proposition, children. they were easily manipulated and through this peoples rights were tooken away....this country is supposed to secure rights and its not doing that right now and i know that things never stay they same so hopefully people get their rights back.
I disagree with proposition 8 half heartedly. I feel that it is everyones right to share in the bond of marrige with a loved one no matter thier sex, but when their rights hender mine, thats where I draw the line. Marrige is a civil union between two loving human beings and it will not be degraded by a union between a man and a man or a women and a women. I feel that propostion 8 would've passed if the propostion didn't force teachers to teach young children about same sex marriges as a mandatory requirment. For many months same sex marriges has been leagal in California but it was over turned in this election by the liberal mind set of "if you are given a inch, you'd want the whole mile." I am a humanitarian at heart and everyone deserves to be happy but it is not fair to inflict their beliefs on me and my future children in a forceful mannor. -Stephanie Haas
I too am against propostion 8. I feel as if everybody chould be treated equally. It may be against the bible but that doesn't mean two men or two women shouldn't love eachother. We fought for peace and i don't think it's right that they're treated differently. Everybody should love who they want to love and I don't think gay or bi's are sick I feel as if they're exactly the same.
I really don't care right now about propisition 8. People should do waht they want but if I had to choose I would be for it. I myself think that marriage should stay between a man and woman because well that's how you can make babies. :) One of the only good things about gays and lesbians is that even though they can't have kids, they can always adopt because there are a lot of orphans who want parents. From what I heard, though, gays and lesbains don't want kids so I really wouldn't see a change. I will stay for propisition 8 just because I like having marriage between man and woman. :)
I can’t say yes or no against proposition 8. I believe that gay marriage is wrong because of religious reasons but i also can say that if a person wants to be gay and marry the same sex, i don’t think anyone should be able to stop them because its there life and we should have freedom in our country. Isn’t America about being free?
I have to disagree with proposition 8. It will be unfair to the people who are gay, bi, and lesbians. Why should we care who they get married to because it is their lives not ours. They deserve the right to get married like everyone else does. They are treated the same so why can they have the right to get married with who ever they want to. Love is love. They are human beings so they should have the right to get married. I am upset that proposition 8 was passed.
Im for prop 8 because i believe in traditional marriage! The definition of marrige is between a man and a woman and not between two men and two woman. And thats how it's supposed to be!!!!
I am against prop 8. I believe that everyone is entitled to their own right. If someone was to vote yes on 8, what difference would it make to them whether or not someone is married? We are all people and we should all be treated equally and fairly.People need to learn to accept others decisions. NO ON 8!
PROPOSITION 8 IS THE RIGHT THING!!!!! It keeps tradition going and preserves the union of a man and woman in holy matrimony. Personally, I have nothing against gays. I just believe thety shouldn't have the right to marry equally to heterosexuals. Prop 8 isn't stopping gays from loving at all. Gays can still love eachother, live together, be togehter or what ever they want. There is such thing as Common Law Marriages. Gays can do that or just deal with it. Marriage isn't proving they love eachother, so gays don't HAVE to get married.
I am against Prop 8. I am a devout Christian, but I believe that marriage is between two people who feel extreme devotion and love towards each other. And besides, it is their life. If they chose that lifestyle, then I am not the one to say that they cannot be what they want to be. And besides, this was not the first, nor the last time this kind of debate will be brought up. It will happen again, whether in the next election, or in 20 years. That's just the cold hard truth.
I think people should have the right to marry who they want but they shouldn't teach it to little kids at school because they might be persuaded to become gay and then our society could fall apart.
I am against Prop 8. I am a catholic so my religious beliefs are against gay marriage, but I know what is right, and not letting people marry who they want to marry should be against the law. Now people are treating "gay people" like they are racist, when Martin Luther King Jr. was fighting against slavery, yeah people heavily disagreed, but in the end slavery ended and African-Americans were free. It's the same in this situation, either way gay people will marry, it may not be in the U.S.A but other countries allow it. Don't fight the issue, even if you are christian or catholic, or whatever, don't judge people by their actions, judge them by their personalities. Just because someone is gay, doesn't mean we should treat them lke different people, WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS. If you are christian, doesn't the bible say "only God Shall judge?
i am against prop. 8!!! i may of had no real reason to think prop. 8 is wrong, but i just don't think it should be anyone's choice if you want to marry the same sex. If your kids are not straight are you gonna be against it?? Are you gonna throw your own kids out. So i believe that gays should have their own rights just like straight people do. Same sex is okay.
