I think Barack Obama's inauguration is very significant to America's future. Not only is he our first president of color, but he has faced the controversy of citizens accusing him of not being a U.S. citizen and being called racial slurs. I agree with MOST of Obama's opinions on the American society and think he will do an excellent job as president.
This public inauguration is a major stepping stone of change for America. Obama represents a different point of view that America has not seen in while. This inauguaration is major history happening; I am glad that i am living to see it.
This is a historical day for our country. A lot of people don't realize how great this is. This is the kind of change that America needs. I'm happy that Barack Obama is now the President of the United States :]
Barack Obama's inauguration is a historic moment for the United States. This is a moment that one and all should never forget. This is a moment that we should look upon with admiration, and wonder. This is the moment that many people, like Martin Luther King Jr., dreamed of. Barack Obama's inauguration marks a moment in time in which we truly see that anything is possible. Whether you're black, white, or latino this shows you that if you put your mind to it anything is possible. Whether you're a Republican or a Democrat this event marks a generation. A generation that hopefully will be better with Obama's help.
Beside the fact that Obama is the first African-American to become president, his inauguration was extremeley important because it enstilled hope in Americans. He didn't just ramble on about what we should do to make America a better place, he spoke about achieving it. His inauguration also showed that it makes no difference whether you are Republican or Democratic, Black or White, Educated or not Educated because all people are created equal and we are entitled to certain rights. After a long period of hopelessness and fear, Obamas inauguration served to inspire, to enstill hope, and more importantly to spread the message that anything can be achieved if we all work together
I believe that Barack Obama's inaugaration means alot to the Unites States of America. It shows how much our country is changing and how much ANYONE can achieve. It's our time as Americans to rise up and prove to the non believers that we can do it and that we can be leaders of our country no matter what ethnicity or background you have. As we struggle to get back on our feet, we have faith in eachother, our country and our leader! This is to change and improvement for our county!!! :]
Through out past generations, society has been closed minded, and you can even say that society has been down right ignorant. Degrading humans just because of color, race, and even religion, but all of this has been left in the past. Today on January 20, 2009 we have our first African American president, with this great accomplishment, our ignorance has been demolished and today our country forgets the prejudice, the discrimination, the racisim and begins a new chapter.
It means just as Barack Obama said, "change." The first African-American President of the United States of America. This is history in the making, and I am confident that Martin Luther King Jr. would be extremely proud of Barack Obama by risking his safety in a country that is still somewhat divided by racial discrimination. I am looking forward to future decisions he will be making and the "change" he will influence upon this country.
Obama's inauguration means change for the United States. Everything about him represents something new. Obama has something new things to offer to the United States, and hopefully it will be worthwhile.
Barak Obama's inaguration means alot to some in the United States. The reason why i say some is because there are many people that disaggree with Obama's opinions. Personally, his inaguration means alot to me because i can actually say in the future that i experienced the first African-American to move into the White house. I think its crazy that 60 years ago African-Americans were held as slaves and now we have a black president. Its amazing what time can do.
Barak Obama's inaguration means more than just a new president to this nation. Not only is this a historical moment for the United States, but it is a chance for us to restore the condition the U.S is in. From what the new President has promised, he will do all that he can to improve the state of the nation. I hope that his promises are are genuine and kept to so we have a chance to shine in the future. ~Brianne Wagner P.2
As of today, Barack Obama’s inauguration is certainly a changing point in life and society. I think things are going to get better and schools and collages are going to get better. Obama is a big part of history and the children now are going to read about this day in there history books when they are in high school. I am very excited to see what happens from this point on!
Well this is the first inauguration that i have ever watched. Barack Obama chose his words wisely and they are very influential. He is very confident in the ability of America to change. I sincerely hope that his promises of change in our economy, education, healthcare, and climate changes will be put into effect. America is ready for these changes we are all ready. One of my favorite lines of Obama's speech was when he was speaking to the other countries and says that it is the country leaders who build not destroy who are remembered. I believe that he has the ability to build our country again. I am going to grow up during his presidency and everything he decides will affect me. I hope that these things will not be negative. So in conclusion i wish Good Luck! to president Obama. God Bless him
I believe that the forty-forth persident's, Barack Obama's inaugerational ceremony, is a landmark in the United State's national history. As the first African American president it is a historical moment and one that i am glad to have witnessed. This to me is a great symbol of change and i am honored to be apart of this new generation. I tought that his speech was very inspiring and sincere. The things that he aspires to do in his term are very relolutionary and can do American economy a lot of good. I would not have personally voted for him but I am very glad that such a qualified man will lead this counry into the future.
Barack Obama's inauguration means a change for the United States. I am so honored to be able to say," I saw Barack Obama become our nation's first African American president." This is a historic moment for the United States. Decades ago, never would anyone believe that we would ever have an African American as president. Today is not just a day for African Americans, but people of all ethnicities. The inaugaration of Obama has now become a symbol for all people that color does not determine our ablities and chances to be successful in life. Its not that Bush did not understand the discrimanation many colored people experience, but Obama, being of his color and race, has a better understanding of the struggles of many minorites. I just truly believe in President Obama and I am excited to see what he accomplishes during his presidency.
This inauguration is very important to the U.S. history. It seemed almost impossible that it happened based on the U.S. history. The first african American was elected president making today and this event a change staying with American as long as they live. He spoke of peace and dignity showing passion and care toward americans. With a new president americans hope for a better change and great success. -Deanna Alamillo P.2
I think this inauguration is a very important event to start a new year. Not only do we have a black president, but we have a man that changes how we view America. I believe he gives hope to many people who lost their jobs, homes, etc. This change in race is a huge inspiration to many people who were brought down by others saying that they could not do what they dream of accomplishing. With Obama as president, I'm sure that he will help America rise again.
I think Barack Obama’s inauguration is a big step for the United States of America. This will make history and it will open many doors to many changes. United States will grow not only as country but as a family. His inauguration shows the growth that the United States has made over the past 100 years. It shows that anyone can be what they want to be.It is amazing how I get to live in this historic moment I am so honored. All I can do is wish the best of luck to Obama but I hope that he keeps his promises to The United Sates of America.
This is one of the most historic moments that I have lived through; and I’m flabbergasted that this has happened in my lifetime. I'm glad that all this is happening because it shows the world that everything is possible and that our country has evolved and other countries should too. I'm glad that I live in the United States of America because there are no civil wars and we are still safe and secure in our home. We need Obama to fix our country’s deficit so we can change our health care and make it affordable to everyone. I think Obama is going to change our country for the better; at least I hope so…
I think the inauguration of Barack Obama is a major turning point for America. Obama is not only going to bring change, he will unite America together as one. Obama being president just shows how far this country has come. Hopefully Obama will change many stereotypes and will prove people wrong. I feel very lucky to be able to live through this point of time in history. Obama is just what this country needs.
I believe that the inauguration is the event that has changed the future for America and i believe it is going to be a good change. I am looking forward to what Barack Obama has in store for our country. Not to mention that America hasnt experienced anything this significant in a long time and it is a big thing for me to actually be involved and know what is going on....being able to experience the inauguration is actually very rewarding..
I am proud of Barack Obama's inauguration and his accomplishment. I am also proud to say that i was in high school when the first African-American President was elected. I am looking forward to the changes and the differneces in America!
Barack Obama made his presidential inauguration today as the first African-American President for the United States of America. Although that is a major step forward that was made when electing Obama, the topic I view as most significant on inauguration day is the peaceful transfer of powers. Not only is a new man coming into power of our country, but it is a man of opposite race, and political views of his predecessor, and yet the transition is happening peacefully. Overall I feel I am very privilidged to live in such a successful nation that is open to individuality.
Obama's inauguration will mean change for the United States. This also marks a day that people like me can look back and say, "I was there." When I'm an adult and i'm helping my children out with their history homework, there is going to be a picture of Barack Obama as the first African American president and I am going to remember this day forever. American has grown as a country to where we have stepped above the past, and created a brighter future for ourselves.
Barack Obama's ignaguration is now part of the American history. Today is a day when democrats and republicans come together and watch how the new president of the U.S. is welcomed to the White House by all the people that believe in him. Even though I don't get involved in politics this is a day that every american should remember.
Barack Obama's inauguration means that the United States is ready for a change. We as a nation are beginning to come together for the better of our nation, and not just ourselves.
I believe that Barack Obama's inauguration shows the change we have had in America. A couple years ago African Americans were not even able to vote. But today and African American has become the President of the United States. This not only shows how time has changed but also how strong democracy is. Seeing Barack Obama become president sent the message to the youth that anything is possible if you try and not let anyone get you down. Now I DO know that time has changed and that anyone can become whatever he or she wants to become; ethnicity, religion, or gender does not matter.
I think that Barack Obama's inauguration is a symbol of the change that will take place in his years as president. He will change things so we can live more better than we are today and make it better for us in the future. The moment the inauguration took place a new era began. The era of change and hope.
To many people in our country the inauguration was not a big deal to be able to take some time out of the day to watch the events going on that day. I am very glad and fortunate to have teachers here at Granite Hills that allowed us to put aside our school work and watch history in the making. This year is my very first year in ever hearing about the inauguration let alone watching it on television. I was very disappointed that I was not informed a lot more about this amazing event in the previous years. But this year I was honored to be able to see such a peaceful transition between leaders. I wish the best for our new President Obama and hope he does well to help our country in our hard time of need. Christina Guajaca
Barack Obama's inauguration will be remembered throughout America's history and as a great accomplishment for the African American community. It shows that you can do and be whatever you want as long as you have a great work ethic. Barack Obama has inspire me to be a leader throughout my life and to try my hardest through anything.
Barack Obama's inauguration was history in the making! I am glad, I myself, had seen this historic event. Just like the speech by MLK, "I had a dream" Obama's acceptance speech will be remembered throughout history! I can't wait for what's in store for my future through our new President!
Barack Obama's inauguration is a big change in the United States. This proves the U.S. has changed in many ways. In the old days an African American would have never been elected or even thought of being the President type. I feel its a honor to be living in the time where things are changing and seeing the fist African American as President. It will be an event that will never be fogrgotten and I am glad to being living in history.
I believe that Barak Obama's inauguration was a very important and historical event because he is the first African American president of the United States. I am so glad that he is now our new president because he can hopefully help bring us out of the economical crisis.
I believe that Barack Obama's inaguration is a big deal to America because he is not only the first African American president, but he has claimed that he has big ideas for the change America needs. I'm looking forward to seeing if his ideas really do come in to play in the American society within the next few years.
I think Obama's inauguration means hope to our financial crisis. I also think it means that we will have a cleaner and pollute free world because of him.

I didnt want Obama to win because he would TRY to pull the troops out of Iraq and if he pulls them out now they lost their lives for nothing.
